What's a Hickey?

We have all been in High School, and had the pressure of a girlfriend that wants to know that you love and respect her, and all your friends that want to know that you are getting somewhere with that girl you have been spending time with instead of your friends.

The best way to do both is with love bits or what is commonly referred to as a hickey.

Giving your girlfriend or lover a hickey is usually very intimate, you not only have to kiss her, but also suck on her neck or whatever part of the body that you are trying to give her a hickey.

Nicely said, a hickey is nothing more than brusie.

It may seem cool to have your friends know that you gave a girl a hickey, but her parents and the teachers in your school may not be so impressed with a girl that has 3-4 hickeys on her neck.

Read on to find out how to get rid of a hickey.

How to Hide A Hickey

A hickey just like any other bruise will heal.  Depending on how pressed you are for time though you may need it to heal a lot faster.

Here are some tips on how to hide a hickey or conceal other love bites:

  • If the hickey is under 10 minutes old apply something cold, ice is usually good.  Keep the ice on the hickey for 20 minutes and than off for 20 minutes.  The ice will help constrict the blood vessels which will make sure that the hickey/bruise will not spread
  • If the hickey has been there for more than 48 hours they can also be painful.  It is time to apply something warm to the hickey to make the blood vessals dillate which helps the bruise sweep away.
  • Apply concealer.  Worse case scenario she has to put some makeup on her neck.
  • Turtlenecks in the winter and scarves in the summer have helped avoid many embarrassing situations but you have to decide are you willing to draw that much attention to your neck in the first place?
